online services now available

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we are currently offering telehealth services ("video chat" online). This means we can work with anyone across Alberta!  Research shows that telehealth is effective for providing speech & language services.

We use an encrypted software to safeguard your privacy. Due to the nature of telehealth, some speech & language concerns may not benefit from this type of service. Let's chat to see if it would work for you!

If telehealth is not right for your family, we may be able to offer in-person services at your home. Safety is our priority, so precautions will be taken.

our services

Questions about our service? Is speech therapy right for your family? What does a therapy session involve?

We offer a free 15 minute call (phone or video chat) to discuss your specific concerns, meet your child, and decide together if moving forward with our services will be right for your family.

speech assessment

Assessments provide valuable information about your child's communication skills and levels of functioning in speech and language. Testing protocols are selected based on the needs of the client.

An assessment includes: individualized informal testing to determine if a speech/language delay or disorder is present; post-assessment consultation with family to determine next steps; and an informal written summary

individual therapy

We provide professional, personalized, one-on-one therapy sessions with your child.

Sessions are typically on a weekly basis, but this can vary based on your individual needs. We set functional goals and use evidence-based practices to incorporate your child's interests. This makes the sessions fun and engaging, and will maximize your child's learning.

frequently asked questions

Who do we serve?

We offer one-on-one service for school-age children (4-18) and their families. You must be a resident of Alberta. Please contact us for a consultation to determine if services can be provided for your preschool-aged child. We also emphasize parent coaching, that is, we train you to work with your child. We can also consult and collaborate with other professionals that may be involved in supporting your child's development (teachers, aides, occupational therapists, etc.).

What speech and language concerns do we work with?

We work with a variety of disorders, seen below.

  • mild to severe speech sound disorders (including articulation delays, phonological disorders, and Childhood Apraxia of Speech)

  • fluency/stuttering disorders

  • expressive language (using language)

  • receptive language (understanding language)

  • early literacy skills (phonological awareness)

How much does it cost?

Our fees follow provincial guidelines for private practice. All fees paid are tax-deductible as medical expense, and fees are also GST exempt.

  • Assessment fee (45-60 minutes): $145

    • Required for most clients

    • If you have a recent assessment report (within 6 months), an assessment may not be needed.

  • Therapy options:

    • $140 for 1 hour

    • $110 for 45 mins

    • $75 for 30 mins

    • These fees include the SLPs preparation time, documentation time as required by the province, therapy materials, and weekly home practice materials.

  • Fees for additional services (formal reports, consultation, collaboration with other professionals, school visits, travel time, etc.) may apply and will always be discussed with you in advance . We value transparency - you will never be surprised!

Can you bill my insurance?

Most health benefit plans cover a portion of Speech-Language Pathology services.  However, we do not direct bill to insurance companies. We will provide you with a detailed invoice, which includes the SLP's provincial license number, so that you may get reimbursed by your insurance company.

Please contact us if you have any more questions!
